Toki no Sumi
A spec exploration inspired by the Seiko Power Design Project, treating the dial as paper and the brushstroke as time.

Where tradition meets freedom.
The starting point was Seiko's willingness to let its designers explore beyond established codes. The watch keeps the precision of the Presage case while allowing a freer gesture to take over the dial.

Hitofude — one brushstroke.
Sumi-e leaves no room for revision: one motion remains as it happened. Set against a machined, polished and calibrated object, that irreversible mark becomes the central tension of the design.

The dial as canvas.
The visualization holds two opposite forces on the same surface: the discipline of horology and the freedom of ink. Engineering defines the object; gesture gives it character.

Final thought
If the watch is where art and engineering meet, the dial is where the painting starts.
